INSTALLATION
Installing a complete Upbrella system is a major operation. Several large projects require equipment deliveries, typically over 8 to 16 weeks. This is usually the only stage where public occupancy and conventional equipment are required, sometimes for only part of the total installation time (a few days). In some cases, installation is conducted outside normal working hours or with silent tools to minimize disturbance. Once the Upbrella system has been installed, the entire surrounding urban fabric understands the benefits of having such a system in place for the duration of the project. That is why it is important to communicate the reasons for choosing Upbrella to the neighbourhood in advance.
OPERATION
Once the Upbrella system is in place, only a few parking spaces, a small alley, or a limited space on the site will be used for material deliveries. A transport platform or overhead crane is installed on-site to manage the unloading and hoisting of materials into the Upbrella shelter. The shelter is relocated by one floor every 7 to 13 days, depending on the work to be done and the available workforce. A Upbrella supervisor is on-site to ensure that the preparation is in order and that the equipment is ready, as well as to train the team of workers involved in moving the shelter. The move takes between 30 and 90 minutes; all data is recorded and can be monitored remotely. Construction work can continue immediately after the shelter has been moved without losing a day's work.
UNINSTALL
Uninstallation is carried-out using conventional equipment, or Upbrella equipment for more sensitive areas. It is twice as fast as installation. The equipment, most of which is reusable, is returned to the Upbrella factory for maintenance and checking before being used on the next project.
