Senior Structural Engineer
As a Structural Engineer at Upbrella, you’ll take ownership of the design, analysis, and evaluation of structures across our construction projects. You’ll make sure our buildings are safe and stable, carry out structural assessments, and ensure everything is done in line with current codes and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structures for our construction projects
- Run load calculations and simulations to confirm structural stability and strength
- Work hand in hand with design and construction teams to bring structural solutions to life
- Inspect and assess existing structures
- Make sure all work meets current building codes and standards
- Write technical reports and keep project documentation up to date
- Help drive the optimization and scaling of high-rise construction methods
- Coordinate engineering work with international subcontractors
- Manage structural engineering follow-ups and grow a team that can handle the demands of international projects
- Build and nurture a network of experts through partnerships with external engineering firms
Skills
- A degree in civil or structural engineering
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in structural engineering
- A professional engineering license in Quebec (OIQ) or equivalent
- Strong command of structural analysis and modeling software
- Sharp analytical thinking and solid problem-solving skills
- Great communication skills and a team-first attitude
- A good grasp of Canadian building codes and construction standards
- Bilingualism in French and English is a real plus given the international scope of our work
