700 RLO
Upbrella is supporting the façade retrofit of 700 René Lévesque Ouest alongside Groupe Petra, DMA Architects, PCL Construction and Vitreco, using its latest modular shelter system.
Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, at the corner of Robert Bourassa and René Lévesque, this 12-storey building, almost entirely occupied, is undergoing a major curtain wall rehabilitation. Coordinating work at height must be done within a tight footprint and constant pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Drawing on its experience at 600 de la Gauchetière, Upbrella is deploying a modular sheltered construction system whose modules are pre-assembled in the factory. At 700 René Lévesque Ouest, the shelter is moved as the work progresses, thanks to a manual repositioning of each module using a hoist system. The shelter, offering 5 working levels, creates a safe controlled working environment for workers, protected from the weather and allowing the building’s daily activities to be maintained while limiting the use of the public domain.
Begun in the spring of 2025, the project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2026, demonstrating the speed and efficiency of sheltered façade rehabilitation with Upbrella.
